Why KEZAI Will Never Limit Your Watchlist

Some platforms cap how many items you can track for free. At KEZAI, we made a different choice.

The problem with artificial limits

You have 200 series in progress, 50 manga, a stack of books and a handful of films in your watchlist. One day, the platform you use to track everything decides you have too many. "Upgrade to premium to keep adding content." Your free tracking just got cut short.

This is an increasingly common scenario. Platforms that were generous in their early days end up restricting access to push users towards subscriptions. The watchlist capped at 100 items, auto backups removed, VIP pricing doubled overnight.

We understand the business logic. We don't share it.

Why limits hurt everyone

A tracking platform is only valuable if your data is complete. If you have to choose which content to keep in your list because you hit a ceiling, you lose the very point of the service.

Artificial limits create a vicious cycle:

  • You can no longer track everything for free
  • You start using multiple tools in parallel
  • Your data gets fragmented across 3 apps
  • You lose track — exactly what the tracker was supposed to prevent

It's absurd. Progress tracking is the core of the product. Throttling it is like a password manager that limits how many passwords you can store.

The KEZAI philosophy

At KEZAI, tracking is unlimited and free. Period. No cap at 100 items, no wall after 30 days, no service degradation over time.

Here's our commitment:

  1. Unlimited tracking — Add as many manga, series, films, anime and books as you want. Zero limits.
  2. No feature removal — What's free today stays free tomorrow.
  3. Your data belongs to you — Full export, anytime, no strings attached.
  4. No surprise pricing — We'll never double the price of an active subscription.

So how does KEZAI make money?

Premium features exist — AI recommendations, annual Wrapped, unlimited extensions, advanced couple space — but they add value rather than restoring what was taken away.

The model is simple: full tracking is free, bonuses are paid. You never pay to unlock something you already had.

A design choice, not a marketing argument

This decision isn't a PR stunt. It's a fundamental design choice. If tracking is the heart of the product, it should be accessible to everyone, unconditionally.

We're building KEZAI for people who consume a lot of content — and those people need a reliable tool that won't surprise them with bad news.

Ready to switch?

If you're tired of platforms asking you to pay to get back what you had for free, try KEZAI. It's free, unlimited, and it'll stay that way.
